Mis en Scene.

Whilst watching a video about editing one day, I think it was the Editor of Transformers, he said, Editors should understand/learn how to write a screen plays to understand beats to a scene and my search down the rabbit whole of being a good Scripted Editor has led me to some incredible video's by a Youtube site called....Story Binder. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCUFoQUaVRt3MVFxqwPUMLCQ

Actually, weirdly the best approach I should take is something called Mis En Scene. Its the first time, i've come across such a word but I think it helps and adds to my thinking when these elements are combined to create a single shot...it sounds complicated but it's quite easy to understand once its broken down to its simplied form.

The way Story Binder explained it, Mis En Scene is basically all the prepartion work that goes into a single shot.

Ie 2+2=4
